Language settings
“Language settings” is used to configure the page terms for each module and page. The module is opened by selecting “Language settings” from the module selection tool at the top-right of the page.
The desired page and languages can then be selected. Clicking on the “Search” button opens an overview of the selected items.
The settings for each term can be edited by clicking “Edit” in front of each individual term, opening a new screen in which the term in question can be entered in the various languages. Clicking on “Save” confirms the changes.
Add new languages
New languages can be added using the “Language settings” module. The functionality is accessed by selecting “Language settings” from the module selection tool at the top-right of the screen and clicking “Add language” (also at the top-right of the screen).
The “language name” and “country code” can be entered on the subsequent screen. The so-called Alpha-2 code should be used, as set out in the ISO 3166-1 standard. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_3166-1 for more information.
Clicking on “Save” confirms the changes.
Export to MS Excel
A file containing the terms in various languages can be exported from the system to MS Excel. The complete list of terms can be exported using a filter (search results). The system automatically generates a file in MS Excel 2003 format.
Import from an MS Excel file
Terms in an MS Excel file can be imported into the system. Note that it must be an MS Excel 2003 format (if working in a later version, click ‘Save As’ and select the MS Excel 2003 [XLS] format before saving). File names may only contain letters and numbers; special characters are not permitted.
Note: If the exported file is used to translate the entire Barometer in a new language, the new language must first be added, and then the file can be exported to Excel. Next the empty column can be filled with the new translations and after that the file can be imported back into the Barometer. This way, the format is exactly the same.
