While editing a page, an image can be uploaded to a page.

The buttons used to add an image can be found in the toolbar of the text editor, as pictured above, that is displayed when editing a page. Select the icon depicting a mountain landscape (= add/edit image) at the centre of the toolbar. Then, follow the next steps:

1. A new screen will open. On 'Source', click the icon depicting a file with a magnifying glass.

2. Select 'Upload' in the top left corner and select 'Local machine'.

3. A new screen will be opened. Select on the bottom right 'Add files'.

4. Search for the location of the image, select it and click 'Upload'. The image appears now in Moxiemanager.

5. Select the image and click 'Insert'. The image now appears in the text editor.

The size of an image can be adjusted by clicking and dragging the corners of the image.

2. Select 'Upload' in the top left corner and select 'Local machine'.

3. A new screen will be opened. Select on the bottom right 'Add files'.

4. Search for the location of the file, select it and click 'Upload'. The file appears now in Moxiemanager.

5. Select the image and click 'Insert'. Now, the file appears on the 'Insert link' screen.

6. Next, edit 'Text to display' in this screen. This text will appear on the Barometer.

7. You don’t need to fill in the ‘Title’ field.

8. Change the 'Target' field from None to New window.

The page will display the image or file at the position of the cursor in the text editor. The position of the file or image on the page can still be adjusted.

You can tidy up the file by exporting the complete list to Excel, go through it there, edit where necessary and import back into the Barometer. This import function can also be used separately if a large number of other members has to be added to the system when setting up the Barometer.

Linking several Partners to one user

There are users that enter data for several organisations. This can result in one user receiving several invitation emails. To prevent this from happening, it is possible to link this user to all these organisations/partners. This way the user receives only one invitation via email, which contains one link to the input module, rather than several emails.

Please note: You must know who this user is in advance and how the user’s name is recorded at one of the partners, as the spelling needs to be the same at all the partners.

Follow the next steps to link several partners to one user:

1. Select 'Partners' in the menu on the left-hand side of the screen

2. Search for one of the partners in the list.

3. Click 'Show users'.

4. Open the selectbox next to 'Add user/Gebruiker toevoegen' (see image) and select name and correct spelling of the user that you want to link to the partner.

5. Next, click 'Add User/Gebruiker toevoegen'

6. Ensure that the ‘receive email’ box is ticked, so the user will receive the monthly reminder.

7. You may remove the previous user associated with the partner.

8. Repeat steps 2 to 7 for every partner for which you would like to add this user.

Create new modules

With this function you can add new modules to the Tourism Barometer. To ensure the quality of the Barometer, you are required to build your module in the Sandbox environment. Go to [[Different environments]] for more information.

To create a new module undertake the next steps:

1. Open the module 'Accounts'. The module can be started directly from the ‘Welcome’ screen of the account management section or by selecting 'Accounts' in the module selection on top of the page.

2. Select 'Modules' in the menu on the left-hand side of the screen.

3. Next, click in the left upper corner on 'Add'.

4. Specify the name of the new module (in all available languages). Please note: the name of the module needs to be unique, short and clear.

5. Tick 'Use in the comparison module?'.

6. Next, select the accounts to which the new module needs to be linked by ticking the respective boxes. For instance, Amsterdam.

7. Click on 'Save' to save the new module.

There are a few more steps to ensure the terms of the module will be displayed correctly in the Barometer.

8. Open the module 'Language settings'. The module can be started directly from the ‘Welcome’ screen of the account management section or by selecting 'Language settings' in the module selection on top of the page.

9. Search for the respective terms by clicking ‘module’ in the table. This will result in the list being sorted by module (one click: A-Z, double click: Z-A). Next, find the newly created module by scrolling through the list. Please note: leave all ‘filter’ fields empty.

10. Now, at the new module, check the terms such as 98, 101, 102, 479, 480, 481 and 516.
The table below shows what needs to be checked.

Language settings

'Language settings' is used to configure the page terms for each module and page. The module can be started directly from the ‘Welcome’ screen of the account management section or by selecting 'Language settings' in the module selection on top of the page.

It is now possible to use the search function to filter by required page and languages. This search function consists of the following fields:

Selecteer pagina (Select page) : Select the page where terms need to be edited.
Zoek term (Search term) : Fill in a search term and select the language in which the search should be carried out.
Zoek lege term in taal (Search empty term in language): Select the language to search for an empty term.
Toon talen (Show languages) : Tick the languages in which the search should be carried out.

Clicking on the “Search” button will display an overview of the filtered terms. Another option is to show the complete list of terms. Then the 'filter' fields should be left empty. Scroll down to view the list of terms. A column can be sorted alphabetically by clicking one of the column headers.

The settings for each term can be edited by clicking “Edit” in front of each individual term, opening a new screen in which the term in question can be entered in the various languages. Clicking on “Save” confirms the changes.

A file containing the terms in various languages can be exported from the Barometer system to Excel. The complete list of terms or a list of selected terms by using a filter (the results of the search function) can be exported by clicking ‘Export all’ or ‘Export using filter’ underneath the list of terms. The system automatically generates a file in MS Excel 2003 format. This export-file consists of a particular format. It is important to retain this file format, because otherwise the file cannot be imported back into the Barometer.

- The file contains a worksheet. On this worksheet several terms are displayed.
- The first column of the worksheet has the title 'Term'. In this column, term numbers are displayed
- The second column of the worksheet has the title 'Pagina' (Page). This column displays the pages of the Barometer in which the term is used.
- The third column of the worksheet has the title 'Module'. This column displays the module of the Barometer in which the term is used.
- In the fourth column and onwards country codes are displayed. These columns display the translations for the term in the respective languages.

An example of this would be announcing that a new version of the Barometer has been put online, providing a link to a website or a PDF stating the most important updates. The notification is displayed prominently in a bar (underneath the menu) in the Account Administrator section, as soon as the Account Administrator logs in. When the announcement has been read, it can be hidden by the Account Administrator.

To create a notification, follow the next steps:

Managing the landing page

The landing page is the default page displayed when a visitor arrives at http://www.tourismbarometer.com

To edit this page, choose directly from the ‘Welcome’ screen of the account management section or by selecting 'Accounts' in the module selection on top of the page. Select 'Landing page' in the menu on the left-hand side of the screen.

A new page opens on which the landing pages for the activated languages can be configured. A content editor screen opens, where the text for the landing page can be noted. There is also an option of uploading files or inserting links. See [[Upload images/files] for more detailed information about this.

Remember to edit the text in the other languages if required and to store the adjustments by clicking the ‘Save’ button.

Create account with overlapping partners

Two accounts may have overlapping partners – this can happen if two accounts are in overlapping regions, such as the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area and the province North Holland. However, doubly entering results is cumbersome and therefore undesirable. To avoid having to double up, it is possible to include partners in both accounts and duplicate the results.

In order to do this, for each account a partner is created, however one will be the ''‘main partner’'' and one the ''‘sub-partner’''. The ''‘main partner’'' account is the one where the results are entered. The ''‘sub-partner’'' account is the one where the partner is linked to, meaning the results are automatically copied to it. This applies to all results, both new and past ones, as well as related notes.

Please note: once a partner has been created, it cannot subsequently be linked to a ''‘main partner’''. Neither can a link be removed once it has been created.

To create an account with overlapping partners, follow these steps:

1. Select 'Partners' in the menu on the left-hand side of the screen and click on 'Add new partner' afterwards.

2. Create the ''‘main partner’'' as described under '''Add Partner''' in [[Add new Partners and their users]]

3. Next, go to the Account Administrator section of the second account and log in to create the ''‘sub-partner’''.

4. When logged into this second Account, start directly from the ‘Welcome’ screen of the account management section the module 'Users/partners' or select 'Users/partners' in the module selection on top of the page.

5. Select 'Partners' in the menu on the left-hand side of the screen and select 'Add new partner' afterwards.

6. Fill in the following fields:
Name : Name of the Partner. The name of the Partner may only be entered once in the system.
Active : Tick the box. A Partner is usually active, but may be deactivated in certain circumstances.
For example, if a museum or attraction is closed for extended period of time (at least 1 year) or is closed permanently.
This means that the data remains in the system, but that the Partner no longer appears in invitation lists and so forth.
URL : Link to the Partner’s website. Note! The URL needs to be complete, including ‘http://’ at the beginning.
Hoofdpartner : In the selection box, select the account and the name of the main partner to which the sub-partner should be linked.

Click the 'Save' botton to save the partner.

7. Now this sub-partner can also be linked to one or several modules. Select the required module under 'Add module' and then click ‘add’. The module name appears on top of the screen. Make sure you select the same module as in the ‘main partner’ account.

To edit this page, choose directly from the ‘Welcome’ screen of the account management section or by selecting 'Accounts' in the module selection on top of the page. Select 'Landing page' in the menu on the left-hand side of the screen.

A new page opens on which the landing pages for the activated languages can be configured. In the Content editor the text of the landing page can be written or edited. It is also possible to upload images and/or files to the landing page. See [[Upload images/files]] for more information.

Remember to edit the text in the other languages if required and to store the adjustments by clicking the ‘Save’ button.

To link modules and accounts, you can follow the next steps:

1. The module can be started directly from the ‘Welcome’ screen of the account management section or by selecting 'Accounts' in the module selection on top of the page.

2. Select 'Modules' in the menu on the left-hand side of the screen.

3. Select the respective module you would like to link in the list.

4. If you haven’t done so yet, add the correct translations for the module name.

5. If the module is part of the [[Comparison module]] and this has not been indicated yet, tick the 'Use in the comparison module?' box.

6. Select the accounts to which this module must be linked.

7. To save the edited settings, click the 'Save' button.

Available nationalities per module

Available nationalities must be specified for each module that indicates arrivals- or bednights figures. This is another element of editing account settings.

In order to reach the list of nationalities, undertake the following steps:

1. The module can be started directly from the ‘Welcome’ screen of the account management section or by selecting 'Accounts' in the module selection on top of the page.

2. Select the account that you may edit, e.g. Amsterdam. Click the ‘edit’ pictogram’ (paper and pen) next to the account you want to edit.

3. A screen with 'Account details' will be shown. Here you can edit various general account preferences.

4. Scroll down until you see 'Setting of graphs and modules'.

5. Select the required module indicating arrival- or bednights figures. You will get to the screen 'Account module details'.

6. Scroll down again until you see the list with nationalities.

7. Tick the nationalities that are relevant for your Account.

8. Click on the 'save' button in the right corner.

This is another element of editing account settings, which allows users to edit the characteristics of the various modules. The first step is to click on the module that requires editing.

Modules that have just been created may not appear in the list, because they have not yet been linked to your account by the Barometer Administrator. If this is the case, contact the Barometer Administrator to link the modules to the account.

The barometer can add up the figures from two separate modules and transform them into one new separately calculated module. The data of this module will not be displayed separately as a module in the menu on the left-hand side of the screen, but can be displayed in the table on the ‘current situation’ page. This refers to adding up the figures of, for instance, 'Bednights in hotels' and 'Bednights in accommodation'. Selecting the box 'Is accommodation module' for both, and thus indicating that both of these are Accommodation modules, will signal to the barometer that they belong together. The nationalities will automatically be matched.
